Irwin Mine and Tunneling Supply Becomes Master Distributor of RGC Drills & Chain Saws
Irwin, Pa., May 20, 2005 – Irwin Mine and Tunneling Supply recently signed an agreement with Reimann & Georger Corp. (RGC) to become a master distributor of RGC’s HydraCore Drills and HydraCutter Chain Saws. The hand-held core drills are ideal for non-percussive drilling in coal mines and through concrete and other aggregates, and the chain saws can be used in a variety of mining applications, including the cutting of lumber posts used to support mine roofs.
“By distributing RGC core drills and chain saws, we are broadening our ability to serve operators of large and small coal mines alike,” says Rengers. “Adding these products to our line is in keeping with Irwin Car and Equipment’s ongoing commitment to be the premiere single-source supplier for mine and tunneling supply equipment and systems.”
The RGC Hydra Core Drill can bore holes with diameters ranging from 6 inches to 24 inches. The drill stand is secured to the surface with lag bolts, which allows for clean, precise hole boring and increased operator comfort. The hydraulic power operation delivers consistent, efficient power with less noise and vibration than typical core drills.
The Hydra Core Drill is powered hydraulically by the HydraPak, or by a compatible power source. Other key features include: Diamond core bits to drill through any mining surface; Optimum rotational speed for faster drilling; Variable speed control; Built-in pressure relief system to prevent binding, motor burnout, wrist damage and prolong bit life; Non-reversing motor to protect the spindle thread; and Wheels for easy mobility.
The HydraCutter Chain Saw is the best performing tool in its class. It is rugged and versatile, and makes fast and precise cuts. The HydraCutter comes with three (3) types of chains to meet specific cutting needs and its diamond cutting segments are laser-welded to high carbon steel chains. The HydraCutter’s lightweight, ergonomic design enhances precision cutting with minimal force and reduces operator fatigue. Other key features include: Roller nose sprocket for maximum chain and bar life; Water flow system for maximum lubrication, cooling and abrasion flushing through seven internal bar channels; tapered bar design for increasing power transmission to the nose, reducing chain wear during plunge cuts; and hydraulically powered in-line pump for adequate water supply.
