Irwin Car and Equipment offers a wide range of custom-designed locomotives, personnel carriers and utility vehicles that are ideal for underground coal and hard rock mines, as well as for tunnels and above-ground industrial use. Our locomotives are powered by diesel, battery, trolley and a combination of battery/trolley.

Besides manufacturing locomotives and related products for mining and industrial applications domestically and internationally, we also provide complete re-build or re-design of existing rail equipment, with refurbishment to “like new” condition. All of the underground mining vehicles we produce or refurbish are MSHA-approved.

Our field-installed packages can upgrade disc brakes, electronic controls, suspension, operator cabs and ergonomic seating.
